  • Profile details such as event preferences and guest counts
  • Payment-related information (processed securely via third-party gateways)
  • Communications you send us via forms, email, or WhatsApp

  • Pages visited, time spent on site, referring URLs
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies

Vendor & Partner Data

  • Business name, address, service listings, and portfolio images
  • Bank account details for payout processing (stored encrypted)

  • Venues & Vendors — Contact details shared with the venue/vendor you book, for fulfilment only
  • Payment Processors — Billing info shared with Razorpay / Stripe / payment gateway partners
  • Analytics Providers — Anonymised usage data shared with Google Analytics
  • Legal Obligation — Where required by Indian courts, government authority, or law enforcement

Agreement to Terms

Conditions for using BookMyVenue

By accessing BookMyVenue.in, you confirm you are at least 18 years old and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, vendors, and venue owners.

Important
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our platform. Continued use constitutes acceptance of any updated terms.

Platform Role

What BookMyVenue does and doesn't do

BookMyVenue is a marketplace platform connecting customers with venue owners and vendors. We do not own, manage, or control any venue or vendor listed on our platform.

  • We facilitate discovery, enquiry, and booking — not direct service delivery
  • Venue/vendor quality is the responsibility of the respective listing owner
  • Contracts for services are between the customer and the service provider
  • We do not guarantee availability until confirmed by the venue/vendor

User Accounts

Registration and account responsibilities

  • You must provide accurate and complete registration information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use at support@bookmyvenue.com
  • One person may not maintain multiple accounts to abuse promotions or reviews
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations

How reservations and transactions work

Booking Process

  • Bookings are subject to venue/vendor confirmation and availability
  • A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of payment and written confirmation
  • Platform booking fees (if any) are non-refundable unless stated otherwise

Payments

  • All payments are processed in Indian Rupees (INR)
  • We use industry-standard SSL encryption and PCI-compliant payment gateways
  • Advance deposits and cancellation terms are set by individual venues/vendors

BookMyVenue is not responsible for pricing errors displayed by venues or vendors. Always confirm final pricing before completing payment.

Prohibited Conduct

What you must not do on our platform

  • Post false, misleading, or defamatory content about venues or vendors
  • Attempt to circumvent the platform to avoid service fees
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers on our platform
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or attempt unauthorised system access
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose under Indian law

Violations may result in immediate account suspension and legal action where applicable.

Limitation of Liability

Our liability boundaries

To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, BookMyVenue and APT Digital Express shall not be liable for:

  • Service failures, cancellations, or disputes between users and venues/vendors
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from platform use
  • Loss of data, revenue, or goodwill attributable to platform downtime
  • Actions or omissions of third-party venues, vendors, or payment processors

Our aggregate liability in any case is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 30 days preceding the claim.

Refund Overview

General principles for cancellations and refunds

We understand that plans change. Our refund policy aims to be fair to both customers and the venues/vendors who depend on advance bookings to run their businesses.

Refund eligibility depends on when you cancel, which service was booked, and the individual venue/vendor's cancellation policy.

Venue Booking Refunds

Cancellation schedule for venue reservations

Standard Cancellation Schedule

  • 30+ days before event: 80% refund of the amount paid to BookMyVenue
  • 15–29 days before event: 50% refund of the amount paid
  • 7–14 days before event: 25% refund of the amount paid
  • Less than 7 days before event: No refund applicable
⚠ Please Note
The above schedule applies to the platform fee component. Venue deposits paid directly to venue owners are governed by the venue's own policy, which you must confirm before booking.

Force Majeure

In cases of natural disasters, government restrictions, or events beyond reasonable control, we will work with you and the venue to offer a date change or partial credit. Full refunds under force majeure are evaluated case by case.

Vendor Service Refunds

Cancellation rules for photography, catering, DJ & more

Standard Vendor Cancellation

  • 21+ days before event: Full refund minus 10% processing fee
  • 10–20 days before event: 60% refund of the amount paid
  • Less than 10 days before event: 25% refund only
  • Same day / no-show: No refund applicable

Vendor Non-Performance

If a vendor fails to deliver agreed services without cause, you are entitled to a full refund. Report vendor non-performance within 48 hours of the event to support@bookmyvenue.com with evidence.

Evidence Needed
Photos, messages, or call recordings confirming vendor non-appearance or material service failure.

How to request a refund and what to expect

How to Request

  • Log in to your account and go to My Bookings
  • Click Cancel Booking and select your reason
  • Alternatively, email refunds@bookmyvenue.com with your booking ID

Processing Timeline

  • Refund requests acknowledged within 24 hours
  • Eligibility verified within 2 business days
  • Approved refunds credited within 5–7 business days to original payment method
  • UPI refunds typically appear faster (1–3 days)
⚠ Non-Refundable Items
Platform convenience fees, SMS/email notification charges, and payment gateway processing fees are non-refundable in all cases.
